Training your Weimaraner Puppy

Training starts straight away with a Weimaraner puppy, even if you don’t realise it! They are intelligent dogs and pick up on the slightest detail and unconscious signal. So…if you aren’t prepared to share your bed with a fully grown Weimaraner, don’t give in to the puppy!

Do Weimaraners make good family pets?

Weimaraners are loving and loyal – they don’t get the nickname ‘velcro dog’ for nothing. They are large, active dogs however and whilst unlikely to cause havoc on purpose, they could inadvertently knock small children over by being too boistrous

Are Weimaraners easy to train?

Weimaraners are intelligent and learn things very quickly – which is great news for training. However they can also be quite wilful, so it is important to be consistent and firm with them from the very beginning.

About Us

Hi, I’m Claire and I’ve been a devoted Weimaraner owner for the past sixteen years. I got my first Weimaraner, Asha, in 2006. I fell head long in love with her – she was without a doubt my soul-dog – and haven’t looked back since. I’ve had the privilege to have three more Weimaraner’s in my family since then and currently have one short-hair and one long-hair. The motivation for this site is to try and provide an honest portrayal of everyday life with this wonderful breed, support with the challenges that they bring (and believe me, they do!) and promote the positive traits of such a loyal, intelligent and charismatic dog.
